About Living Well at Festival Pointe
Welcome to Living Well at Festival Pointe, a luxury rental lifestyle development designed for seniors aged 55 and over. Located in the vibrant community of Sherwood Park, Alberta, our 73-suite apartment building offers a carefree lifestyle with high-end finishes and a prime location.
Our Story
The Festival Pointe partnership team envisioned a space where seniors could enjoy the comforts of home in a luxurious setting. The project, which is 100% leased, features one-bedroom suites and two-bedroom suites. Additionally, six three-bedroom suites measure 1,326 square feet, and several corner suites are available.
Meet the Team
Marvin Job - MDM Construction
President/Controller
MDM Construction Co-founder, Marvin Job has been with the company since 1981 from it’s conception. Over the years he has filled many positions from foreman, on-site supervisor, to project manager and controller for the company. His accounting skills enable him to see the entire scope of the project, resulting in tight control of expenses. He has experience in multi-unit residential buildings, industrial and commercial projects, construction of bridges, warehouses, pumping stations, reservoirs and multi-story office buildings.
Terry Collier, MSc. & Associates
President
Terry became interested in Senior’s research while doing his master’s degree, where he studied senior’s consumer behavior. He then moved to Canada to work for a senior’s developer in the marketing division. Terry was a faculty member and lecturer at Medicine Hat College, Grande Prairie College and Red Deer College/Mount Royal University, during which time he facilitated the development of a seniors supportive living property in each community. Terry has facilitated the development of over 37 senior’s properties in the past 39 years.
Rod Osborne - Morada Developments
President
Rod Osborne is a professionally trained lawyer who passed the Alberta Bar Exam in 1986. For the past thirty years, Rod has developed over 25 multi-family projects in Alberta. Presently, Rod is the president of Morada Developments, which is developing five senior’s properties.
Luxurious Amenities
All suites have upscale appliances, including fridges with automatic ice makers. Indoor parking and over 4,000 square feet of amenities, including a demonstration kitchen, theatre room, transportation lounge, exercise studio, crafts room, and woodworking shop, are available for residents to enjoy.
Aging in Place Strategy
Our luxury lifestyle development incorporates an aging-in-place strategy, ensuring that residents can live comfortably and independently as they age. Onsite general managers and concierge staff are available to assist with daily living needs and ensure that necessary maintenance or upkeep is done quickly and correctly.
Pet Club and Community Events
We understand the importance of pets in the lives of our residents, which is why we have developed a pet club that includes a pet registry, pet picture wall, pet dress-up events, and more. Residents can even become godparents to other residents’ pets, fostering a sense of community and companionship.
In addition to the pet club, we offer a variety of in-house classes, clubs, and event programming, including a weekly happy hour, live music, and games nights. Our location next to the performing arts center and near Sherwood Park Mall, as well as countless services, restaurants, shops, a golf club, tennis club, and recreational center, ensures that there is always something to do.
Gardening Club and Rooftop Patio
We are excited to offer a gardening club with sweeping views that will take place on our beautiful rooftop patio. Residents can enjoy gardening and socializing with fellow residents while taking in the scenic surroundings.
The Gardening Club aims to keep the building and grounds looking good throughout the warmer months. Most of us lived in homes before and spent a lot of time and effort on our lawns and gardens. Now, we can do those things with others for the good of the community.
